International Friendship Day
10 April 2015 was International Friendship Day. It provided a good opportunity to explore Singapore’s deepening connection to the region and the world. Time was set aside to commemorate the occasion. Friendship crafts were completed by pupils in class. Pupils also developed a better understanding of the different cultures of the countries in Asia through a dance item called “Dance of Asia”. International pupils from our school also shared their personal experiences of what it was like to stay in Singapore and what they like about their Singaporean friends. They also came together to showcase each of their national costumes. Last but not least, the celebration culminated with cultural games and trying out of national costumes by pupils during recess. Through the various activities, pupils learnt to better understand and appreciate the different cultures and practices of the countries around us.
