GreEN Club
Our GreEN Club CCA is made up of students who believe in doing their part to conserve the environment that we live in. During our CCA sessions, our GreEN Club members maintain the school’s ecogarden and engage in gardening activities such as planting their own vegetables. They also learn about and reflect on issues concerning our environment.
Gardening offers the GreEN Club members an opportunity to learn about the life-cycle process of the plants that they grow, where food comes from as well as importance of the environment and biodiversity in our daily lives. In the process of cultivating the crops, our members also acquire the values of responsibility, care and independence.
Objective
Our members serve as green ambassadors to bring greater awareness of the environment and its conservation to the school as well as the wider community.

Outreach to the Community
Garden Trail - SeedLink Project
As part of our efforts to care for the environment, our school carried out a SeedLink project involving all Primary 5 pupils and children from our neighbouring Kindergartens. The P5 pupils collected the stems of toilet rolls (which are usually thrown away or recycled) and Upcycle them to create biodegradable seed holders.
Kindergarten children are invited to our school to learn about planting using the Upcycled seed holders as well as go on a garden trail conducted by our GreEN ambassadors.
Gardening with the Kindergarteners
The seedLink project led to more collaborations with Kindergartens in our neighbourhood. PCF Sparkletots preschool @Braddell Heights Blk 335 (located nearest to our school) teamed up with our GreEN Club members to grow vegetables in our school’s ecogarden during our CCA sessions.
Dengue Outreach @Braddell Heights
Our GreEN ambassadors participated in a joint dengue outreach project with Zhonghua Secondary School and Braddell heights CC. In this project, the 2 schools collaborated by working on a dengue prevention information pamphlet that was distributed to residents living in the Serangoon area. On the day of the outreach, our members joined the Secondary school students as they travelled from house to house and knocked on doors to share dengue prevention with the residents.
Learning Journeys
Our GreEN Club members attend the Environment Champion workshops and go on Learning Journeys to learn more about environment issues.
