Wushu
Modern Wushu (martial arts), apart from self-defence, is a sport capable of improving reaction time, agility, coordination, balance, flexibility, power and speed. Wushu performances are also a presentation art that exudes elegance and dynamism.
Pupils will engage in weekly training sessions to improve their physical fitness level. With an emphasis on decorum and ethics, practicing Wushu also serves to inculcate values such as respect, self-discipline and resilience in the pupils. Trainings are conducted in both English and Mandarin, translating and explaining common Chinese terms used in Wushu.
Our Wushu programme allows pupils to reach their fullest potential. Our pupils are streamed into the various teams through our internal grading system, as well as close observation during training by teachers and instructors, based on their physique and fitness levels.
Pupils in the standard-routines teams have focused training in routines to meet competition standards (mainly the MOE inter-schools competition & nationals). Meanwhile, pupils in the traditional-form teams are trained in interesting routines and weapons not available in the standard International sets, to take on performances and competitions with traditional-form category (mostly available in invitational and nation-wide competitions).
